Step 1

Pull up the Ministry Planning Calendar on the UMMBC website and determine the best date(s)/time(s) for your ministry to schedule your ministry’s event.

Please remember that this is a planning calendar—not the official church calendar. The purpose of the planning calendar is:

•       to help ministries avoid scheduling church events that conflict with each other,
•       to help avoid duplication of efforts
•       to encourage ministries to coordinate and create partnerships of proposed events, where appropriate.

Step 2

A.    After deciding what date(s) will work best, fill out the online Ministry Event Form and submit it through the website portal for processing.

B.     When filling out the form, provide specific details of your event. The more information the better.

C.     Please allow ten (10) business days for a response. The office will be in contact if there are any issues or conflicts with event requests.

• Please refrain from calling the church office to request that they enter the proposed events. This defeats the purpose of the planning calendar and overburdens the office with manually keeping up with oral requests.

Step 3

Once your event is approved, it will appear in Ministry Planning Calendar on the UMMBC website and you may complete the online Room Reservation Form or any other needed forms as listed below are also available through the website portal:

•       AV Request Form
•       Church Van Request Form
•       Announcement Request Form

* After an event has been approved, if there are any changes leading up to it (such as time, location, or date), please notify the office immediately. This will help us make the appropriate adjustments or reschedule in a timely manner.

Recurring events

Recurring events that have already been approved do not need to be approved each time they occur. This includes:

•       Special Needs Weekly Interviews
•       Choir Rehearsals
•       Senior Missionary Monthly Meetings
•       Welcome Ministry Monthly Meetings

If the ministry event involves the entire congregation’s participation it is a major event, and you will see that event listed in the “Happenings” menu on the church webpage. This includes:

•       VBS
•       Blood Drive
•       Women’s Week
•       Men’s Retreat

If the event is strictly an internal ministry event, it will not appear in the “Happenings” section of the UMMBC webpage for all to see. This includes:  

•       Annual Ministry Picnic
•       Weekly/Monthly Meetings
